It might be just rumor but the fact that Vanessa Hudgens was considered to play the diva in a Broadway musical retelling of her life is something to let her fans know. Check out the article below:

London (PTI): Pop diva Mariah Carey is in talks to produce a Broadway stage musical about her life. Carey is reportedly rooting for British singer Leona Lewis to play the lead.

“Mariah is in talks for a Broadway musical to be made about her life in 2009,” confirmed her spokeswoman. ‘High School Musical’ star Vanessa Hudgens and ‘Desperate Housewife’ Eva Longoria are among others being considered for the starring role reported Daily Mirror.

An insider said, “Mariah secretly likes the idea of Leona Lewis playing her. Not only is she exotic, she’s the only one who they reckon would be able to tackle Mariah’s eight-octave vocal range.” “There would not be any shortage of fascinating material for the musical’s storyline.

“Theres her meteoric rise to fame while married to older music impresario Tommy Mottola, being dumped by her record label in 2001 after a nervous breakdown and being admitted into a hospital for emotional and physical exhaustion,” the source said.

“And then theres her recent marriage to Nick Cannon who is many years her junior and now also her rumoured pregnancy,” it added.

Last few candids of V this year. Busy with New Year and new home, Vanessa was spotted at Studio City with Zac Efron on December 30. Leaving Daily Grill, the on and off screen loveteam tried to hide their faces as they made their way to their respective cars. Vanessa Hudgens looks tired as she takes a break at the Americana Mall on Thursday afternoon in Glendale, Calif.

The 19-year-old High School Musical sweetheart is busy shopping for the holidays and preparing for her 20th birthday.Vanessa was out and about yesterday shopping and stopped at Napa Valley Grille in L.A. for lunch.

Next month, Vanessa and her on-and-off-screen lover Zac Efron will be heading to Japan to promote their film, High School Musical 3: Senior Year!

Twilight has just been released last month and it hit everyone’s attention and became huge. The book had been selling millions of copies and the movie was a huge success. Talks have spread and the second book ‘New Moon’ will be turned into a movie and filming starts April 2009. New book means new characters… and that includes Leah, a werewolf, daughter of Harry Clearwater, a native American. Two disney stars have been rumored to be in the movie and Vanessa Hudgens is one of the two. The other, Suite Life of Zac and Cody on Deck’s Brenda Song. Will it be her portraying Leah? Or will it stay just a rumor?

Who knows, but all we know is that next year, Bandslam will hit the theaters on July 2009 – something to look out for.
